Announced last month as ZTE's most innovative smartphone to date, the Nubia Z9 is already available to buy in China, and will soon be released in the US.
Thanks to its near-borderless design, the Nubia Z9 is ready to partially change the way we interact with smartphones. The handset features what ZTE is calling Frame Interactive Technology, allowing users to command the device by interacting with its left and right edges.
Besides Nubia Z9 from ZTE, there are more borderless smartphones: Sony Xperia P2, Letv Superphone, Meizu MX5.
Sony Xperia p2 is a borderless android smartphone with a 5.2-inch full-HD TRILUMINOS display, 1.9GHz Snapdragon 810 SoC, 12.1MP camera at the back, 5.1MP front shooter and a massive 4,240mAh battery. If the leaked image turns out to be the real deal, this will be the first high-end device in the Xperia series to not feature Sony's OmniBalance design in a while, with the phone instead borrowing from its predecessor by way of a transparent strip at the bottom.
LeTV Superphone has used Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 along with 4GB of RAM , dual SIM card slots, a battery of 3000 mAh and an optical sensor Sony 21 megapixel. This superphone should be available in 3 versions, including one of 6.3 inches and 5.5 inches.
Meizu MX5 features a MediaTek MT6795 SoC octa-core 2.2GHz processor and a 41MP PureView Camera in Collaboration with Nokia. Anyhow, there’s not much detailed information to say about this mysterious duo.
Generally, when there are some smartphone manufacturers are flocking to a new phone technology, it will become a trend in near future. The new phone-borderless technology will become common in the industry and all smartphone makers will use it in their own products. So, we surely are not surprised to see more and more smartphones will be borderless.
