Just as we stated in last article, many white label Android phone makers appears as the development of Chinese mobile phone industry. And Doogee is one of the China phone makers who have manufactured many popular smartphones for global users. Today, we will review the features of one of Doogee’s latest 4G phablet – Doogee F5, a 5.5-inch smartphone with an octa core processor, and then recommend similar 4G smartphones from China suppliers for world-wide purchasers.

Part I. Review of Doogee F5 Features

Doogee F5 is a relatively best value smartphone aiming at medium range phone markets world-widely. So the design, display, hardware and camera are really top-notch among most Chinese Android phones: a unique metal body with liquid technique, a 5.5 inch FHD screen and an octa core 64bit processor from MediaTek. Doogee F5 features dual camera, rear camera has 13 megapixels while front camera has 5 megapixels as well. Following are the comprehensive specifications for Doogee F5:

Doogee F5 Review: Design

The whole design of Doogee F5 is really simple and elegant. The face shell is black, at bottom of which there are three white buttons that most typical Android smartphones have: Black, Home and Menu, a bit different from many Android phones. Doogee F5 looks elegant with a metal body, with the middle frame using a special material, liquid metal, and this makes Doogee F5 be the first Chinese phone to use this material in the world. The rear camera and the fingerprint button are on the metal back cover. On the right side of the outer liquid metal frame, there are the volume and power buttons, with the SIM card slot. All the buttons are in the same side, so the left side is smooth. But the USB port and the headphone jack are separated: the former is on the bottom side and the latter is on the top side of Doogee F5.

Doogee F5 Review: Display

Doogee F5 features a 5.5 inch FHD screen that comes from AUO, a well-known Chinese touch screen manufacturer. The screen supports 178 degree viewing angle and uses many techniques used on many Android OEM smartphones from China manufacturers, like the IPS screen technology that will make the smartphone screen look sharper and brighter, Glass + Film + Film (G+F+F) full lamination technology for a thinner smartphone display. And the 82% screen-to-body ratio makes Doogee F5 like a narrow bezel smartphone.

Doogee F5 Review: Hardware

The SoC used in Doogee F5 is an octa core processor powered by MediaTek, MT6753, which is popular equipped in many high-mid range Chinese Android smartphones. Along with the ARM Mali T720 MP3 GPU and the 3GB of RAM, Doogee F5 provides a really fast processing task speed, for multiple tasks and big games. The 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 64GB supports well with the processor and GPU for a high performance.

Doogee F5 Review: Camera

Dual cameras have been the standard configuration of Chinese Android smartphones, there is no exception for Doogee F5. It has a 13 megapixels rear camera that uses Samsung camera sensor and a 5 megapixels front camera using OmniVision camera sensor.

Doogee F5 Review: Other features

Doogee F5 is a 4G phablet, so without any doubt, it supports 4G networks and the frequency bands include: FDD-LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz that cannot be used in America regions or countries. We will late recommend another Chinese 4G smartphone that supports America 4G networks.

Doogee F5 has a fingerprint function that is very new at the beginning of 2015 and now becomes the basic element of most Android smartphones.

The 5V2A quick charge technique used in Doogee will charge up to 70% capacity within 30 minutes, not fast as OPPO R5’s flash charge.

We can see that, as mobile phone manufacturing technology developing, more and more new techniques will be used in the medium range China Android smartphones. Below is a good recommendation for world-wide purchasers, especially those who want to find some smartphones for relabeling with their own company logo.

Part II. Recommend 4G Smartphones for Purchasers

1. M8000 also equips with MediaTek MT6753 octa core processor, with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It also features a 5.5 inch FHD IPS screen from AUO, even the cameras, both rear camera and front camera, have the same megapixels, 13 megapixels for rear camera and 5 megapixels for front camera, both cameras are from Samsung. M8000 also has a 360 degree fingerprint security function and supports 5V2A quick charge as well. A bit different from Doogee F5, M8000 features a metal middle frame with a texture back cover, which looks elegant as well. However, M8000 runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and this 4G smartphone supports more frequency bands, it supports not just FDD-LTE band 3/7/20 (800/1800/2600 MHz), but also the America 4G networks: FDD-LTE band 2/4/7/17 (700/1700/1900/2600 MHz), smartphone purchasers could choose one kind of FDD-LTE when contacting with the OEM consultants.

2. M1 Plus is another 4G smartphone that has almost same specifications: MediaTek MT6753 octa core CPU with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, a bit larger than both Doogee F5 and M8000. This 4G phablet also features a 5.5 inch FHD screen and metal middle frame, but the thickness is much thinner than Doogee F5 and M8000, only 7.2mm, and M1 Plus is a real ultra-thin 4G smartphone. The rear camera is also 13 megapixels, but it from Sony and the front 5 megapixels is from OmniVision, same as Doogee F5. M1 Plus also has a fingerprint function. Like M8000, M1 Plus is also a 4G phablet that supports more 4G frequency bands: FDD-LTE band 1/3/7/20 (800/1800/2100/2600 MHz) or band 1/2/4/5/7/17 (700/850/1700/1900/2100/2600 MHz).
