Lenovo subsidiary ZUK has just unveiled the Z2 Pro smartphone, oft-rumored over the past weeks for the device’s release date, price and specifications. The ZUK Z2 Pro sounds like a second model, rather than a successor to the existing ZUK Z1 that was the ZUK brand’s first device released in last year. As most of the 2016 new phones, ZUK Z2 Pro has many intriguing specifications like 6GB of RAM, which is now the world’s biggest RAM until now, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC chip, etc. Besides the two featured specifications, many more specifications of ZUK Z2 Pro are worthy review to check if the ZUK Z2 Pro matches its price of RMB 2699 (around $420) or not.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Price and Availability

The ZUK Z2 Pro is said to be priced at RMB 2699 which comes to $416 or Rs. 27,630 approx for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, the price for the lower 4GB RAM with 64GB storage is not confirmed yet from the ZUK official. And the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage ZUK Z2 Pro is available for order from April 22 through the ZUK online store in China.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Display and Design

the ZUK Z2 Pro comes with a smaller 5.2-inch 2.5D curved glass display comparing with the 5.5-inch Z1. And the new device makes a switch from IPS LCD touch screen to Super AMOLED touch screen, but resolution remains Full HD of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The ZUK Z2 Pro is ultra-thin bezel smartphone, with 1.41mm narrow bezel on the sides, even thinner than Elephone P9000’s 1.6mm narrow bezel.

Moving to the design part, the ZUK Z2 Pro has a simple and clean design comparing with other Chinese phones like Vivo Xplay 5 Elite. There is only one big button replaced standard set of three capacitive buttons at the bottom bar of ZUK Z2 Pro face shell, and it seems the ZUK Z2 Pro features the fingerprint scanner on the front just combined into the big Home button, because there is no fingerprint sensor seen on the rear, where a 13MP primary camera locates with dual-tone LED flash. And it seems the ZUK Z2 Pro does not feature a metal Unibody from the glass-like back cover. The middle frame is metallic with the volume controls and power button are on the right side. The headphone jack and Type-C USB are separately on the top and bottom sides.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Hardware and Storage

Like many high end smartphones in the price range of RMB 3000, the ZUK Z2 Pro is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC chip, doubled with the biggest 6GB of RAM, the ZUK Z2 Pro is expected to offer fast speed and quick response for multitasking and playing games. The inbuilt 128GB storage is good enough for most of the use so it is not expandable.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Camera

As for imaging, the ZUK Z2 Pro features a 13MP ISOCELL rear camera with 1.34μm pixels, F/1.8 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The 4K video recording is supported, of course. Selfies aren't just an afterthought either - an 8MP front-facer with 1.4μm pixels and a reasonably bright f/2.0 lens sounds promising on paper of the ZUK Z2 Pro.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Mobile OS

The ZUK Z2 Pro ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow like most of the newly released 2016 smartphones. See the top smartphones list running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Battery

The ZUK Z2 Pro is powered with a 3100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 that is one of the major feature of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC chip.

Review ZUK Z2 Pro Specifications – Connectivity

ZUK Z2 Pro is a dual Sim mobile phone and ZUK says this smartphone supports 23 cellular network types and comes with 4G LTE and VoLTE support too. Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and a GPS receiver are also part of the package. Wired connectivity takes place over USB Type-C, proper USB 3.1 too.

ZUK Z2 Pro is a good recommendation for its price of RMB 2699, while the other 6GB smartphone - LeEco is priced at RMB 2499 with a same 6GB of RAM and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC chip, but the storage is much smaller, only 64GB.
