Xiaomi Mi 5 Review: price and availability
The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available in three different editions: the basic 32GB model, an enhanced 64GB flavor with faster processing, and an exclusive ceramic back edition with a whopping 128GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, with an exclusive price of 2699 RMB. The other two editions are priced at 1699 RMB for basic 32GB model and 2299 RMB for enhanced 64GB device. Xiaomi Mi5 is available in China only right now. But some Indian news reported that the price of Xiaomi Mi 5 for Indian market is now revealed, priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 27,000 at the time of its launch. This is the price range for Xiaomi Mi5 basic edition, the release and price of other two editions (64GB and 128GB) are not confirmed yet. Right now, Xiaomi Mi 5 is available for presale on some Chinese online stores, like GearBest, for users who want to buy a budget Chinese smartphone, and the shipment to US, UK and other European counties is also available.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Review: design and display
It feels very light when holding Xiaomi Mi 5 in hand, only 129 grams with a 5.15-inch big touch screen, which takes up to 73.14 screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi Mi 5 features an IPS LCD FHD capacitive touch screen up to 401 PPI of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with one of the top “black technologies” that makes uses of 16 LED lights to provide more highlights with less power consumption. On the top side of Xiaomi Mi 5 is the earphone jack and infrared port for controlling smart devices at home. And the Type-C USB port is at the bottom side. The back cover is worth mentioning with a whole 3D glass, and the slim curved edges from 3D glass back shell to metal middle frame makes Xiaomi Mi 5 look much slimmer with a thickness of 7.25mm. Xiaomi Mi 5 adopts a non-removable 3000mAh battery for normal use and standard battery life. Xiaomi Mi 5 supports quick charge 3.0, which is one of the 10 black technologies but actually is one technology of the Snapdragon 820 chipset. The two-sides available design of Type-C USB port adopts thinner design with stronger power transmission and faster charging speed. And most of the high-mid end smartphone uses this Type-C USB, like Elephone P9000.
