Recently, ZTE, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, has signed a cooperation agreement with YotaPhone, which is always considered as the Russia’s national gift and originally produced by a Singapore factory named Hi-P.

“This factory does not meet our quality standards and requirements of the clients to the clarity and speed of deliveries. Also, with Hi-P it was impossible to make manufacturing costs comparable to our competitors, which certainly affected the final price.” Yota Devices CEO Vladislav Martynov said.

According to the agreement, ZTE will manufacture the next generation of YotaPhone – YotaPhone 3, which is scheduled to launch in the Q1 of 2016. "The partnership involves the production of new generation of YotaPhone smartphones, as well as the development and integration of mobile services and software," the report from YotaPhone said. “The cost of YotaPhone will be reduced by more than 30% by moving production from Singapore to China. “ But the special edition of YotaPhone will be assembled in Russia.

YotaPhone is a unique device which features two screens. The front display is a traditional color touchscreen, while the rear panel is a monochromatic E-ink display that has a slower refresh rate than the primary display, it allows users to have useful widgets constantly on display, or to read books without consuming much battery juice. This two-screen feature of YotoPhone does provide a better user experience and longer battery life.

The YotaPhone 2 is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. The internal storage of YotaPhone, which has an Android 4.4 system and supports 4G (LTE) network, is 32GB with no MicroSD expansion slot for adding extra storage. Both screens are protected by Corning's extra-durable Gorilla Glass 3. The main screen is a 5-inch colour AMOLED with a resolution of 1,080 by 1,920 pixels (442ppi), which is good enough for usual smartphone activities. While the e-ink screen is a bit smaller, 4.7-inch display that delivers 540 by 960 pixels (235ppi).

YotaPhone 2 is sold at $550, a bit cheaper than iPhone. And hopefully, the new generation will be sold with a cheaper price when the company will reduce the cost of YotaPhone 3 after moving production to China ZTE.
