Quick Charge Technology

Different from wireless charging, quick charge technology turns to the application of adapter for fast charging.

Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 (e.g: Xiaomi Note Pro)

Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 is designed to accelerate the charging process. When paired with a compatible Quick Charge 2.0 certified power adapter, a Quick Charge 2.0-enabled smartphone can achieve a full charge in a fraction of the time traditional methods would take. It can help a batter of 3300mAh charge to 60 percent in 30 minutes.

MediaTek Pump Express (e.g: MEIZU MX5)

Pump Express allows a mobile device to negotiate with the DC wall charger to determine the initial voltage required to recharge the battery, based on its current charge. The voltage is then gradually increased to up to 5V to maximize the charging current, while keeping the battery safely within its thermal limits.

VOOC Flash Charger

By utilizing the standard 5 volt charging voltage, but increasing the current to 5 amps, which makes the charging speed 4 times greater than that of conventional chargers (Currently the output voltage for a standard adapter is 5V, and the current is 1A. Some manufacturers have increased the current to 2A). The VOOC Flash Charge also uses specially made components such as the power adaptor, 8 pin battery, 7 pin port, USB cable and circuitry other than the traditional USB2.0.
