Battery Test Standard

Mobile phone battery is really an important component for consideration when placing an OEM smartphone order, so most Chinese OEM phone manufacturers are required to do a series of phone battery test before the customers' OEM smartphones shipment. Below list some main tests and standards of OEM phone battery, including battery test item, the OEM battery test purpose, test method and condition, and the judgement standard of oem battery.

Under the 20±2℃temperature condition, Charge in 0.2CA current until the upper limit voltage. place for 0~1 H after full charge, then discharge in 0.2CA current to cut-off voltage.

With 0.2C constant current to charge, When voltage reach 4.2V, turn to constant voltage to charge, until the current less than 0.01C.

Electric charge Holding

After the batteries be fully charged, storage them in 60±2℃ temperature for 7 days, then discharge in 0.2C constant current to discharge.

Capacity

 


Full charge the batteries before test, discharge in 0.2CA/ 1CA current till 2.75V, discharge current × discharge time to calculate the capacity.

Test in 3.7V with nominal capacity.

Link a 150Ω resistance to the battery, When the output voltage is 0V, Connect with charger. And series connect with multimeter during charging.

Needle stick

 


Stick the steel nail(3-5mm dia.) into the full batteries,then pull out.

Temperature rise slightly, or leak a little fluid is acceptable.
But no burning, hot rapidly, explode happen.

Short circuit protection

 


The full batteries in the room tempearutre. short the anode and cathode by 100mΩ resistance  for 1 hours. Then disconnect the anode and cathode, discharge in 1C5A current for 5 seconds, measure the voltage of the batteries.

Over discharge voltage protection test

 


Link a resistance to make the output voltage 0V , check the instantaneous 0V voltage during over dischage.

Over charge voltage protection test

 


Charged batteries by DC power, the instantaneous voltage of charge protect is 4.275V±25mV, Measure the voltage of the chargeing batteries in saturation.

The highest voltage is 15KV, Air discharge to the fan-out of batteries for 5 times, then discharge to the ground.

Drop from 1M high, each face drop 2 times, 6 faces in all.

Drop from 0.5M high, 10 times/minute, 1000times in all.
